Complete renewal in the Standard Series from Martin
Continuation of the “Golden Era”
Between the late 1920s and 1942, Martin experienced a rapid growth in innovation, materials and craftsmanship. During this period, some of the world's finest and most sought-after guitars were created, sounding better with age. Martin calls this The Golden Era and continues this concept with its newer models. These three new models, the Martin 000-17, D-17 and OM-45, also feature Golden Era (GE) finishes.
The most important changes
The most important Golden Era finishes are a low oval neck profile, thinner fretboard with slightly rounded edge and a more comfortable playing feel. You will also find Scalloped bracing on the top and a Modern Belly bridge with bone or ebony bridge pins. The top nut is also rounded at an angle, the heel is slimmer and more elegant, and you will find a Long Diamond transition at the neck.
The first models of this series are expected at Martin at the end of January.
