Fender
Fender is an American company which was founded in 1946 by Leo Fender. The company is known for their solid body electric guitars and was the first to sell these guitars. Their first guitar was the Telecaster, which became very popular. This model was followed up with the equally popular Stratocaster and the Fender Bass. Throughout the decades they have designed more popular shapes which explains their current popularity quite well. Additionally, Fender prioritises quality. It is thus not surprising that their guitars are used by many famous guitarists, like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and David Gilmour.
The Vintera ‘60s Telecaster
The Vintera ‘60s Telecaster is part of Fender’s Vintera series. With this series, Fender’s vintage models are recreated with modern building techniques. This guitar is based on the 1960s version of the Telecaster. The 1960s are known as Fender’s ‘Golden Age’, which means it’s a very popular vintage guitar. The Vintera model has a vintage appearance with a beautiful green colour. The guitar also has other vintage components, like the ‘60s neck profile and bridge. The guitar also has two Vintage Style ‘60s single coil pickups. Telecasters usually have two single coil pickups, and these vintage pickups make it possible to create that authentic Telecaster sound. The pickups can be adjusted with the four-way switch, the volume knob, and the tone knob. The guitar has an alder body and a maple neck. The fretboard is made of pau ferro, which is a more sustainable alternative to rosewood. The Vintera ‘60s Telecaster is thus a great model for guitarists that love vintage guitars!
