GODIN
Godin is a Canadian company who make professional and innovative guitars. Their guitars are relatively sustainable, as well. Almost all their wood comes from North-America, which means they don’t participate in the deforestation in South-America. Their guitars are made by hand by the best luthiers in Canada, which means they can guarantee high quality guitars.
ARCHTOP
An archtop guitar means exactly that; the body has a slight curve to it, instead of being completely flat like most guitars. Another aspect of an archtop guitar is that there are two F-holes on either side of the bridge. This construction was inspired by violins and produces an amazing sound. The two symmetrical F-holes make it easier for the sound to vibrate and project. With F-holes, an arched construction is necessary, as the soundwaves will not properly move without a round edge. This also means that archtop guitars are hollow, otherwise the archtop construction will have no effect. The archtop construction is quite popular because the added resonance and projection produce a beautiful, airy, and full sound. Whereas solid body guitars predominantly produce sound with the vibration of the strings over the pickups, with a little added resonance on the top of the body, hollow-body guitars have more resonance and will thus also sound less ‘flat.’
The Montreal Premiere LTD Desert Green
The Montreal Premiere LTD Desert Green is an amazing guitar. It doesn’t only look unique due to its Desert Green Colour, but the guitar also contains a Bigsby tremolo system and two Seymour Duncan P-Rails. These are strange pickups, as they are humbuckers that consist of a narrow Hot Rails single coil and a vintage P90. These pickups were designed to be able to produce a super versatile guitar. This is because the humbuckers can be split into either a P90 or a single coil. The guitar has a Canadian wild cherry body, which sounds warm and articulated. Furthermore, the guitar has a mahogany neck and a rosewood fretboard.
