Godin
Godin is a Canadian company that make professional and innovative guitars. Their guitars are relatively sustainable, as well. Almost all their wood comes from North America, which means they don’t participate in deforestation in South America. Their guitars are made by hand by the best luthiers in Canada, which means they can guarantee high-quality guitars.
Sound
The Summit Classic A/E is a semi-hollow guitar and the shape is inspired by the popular Les Paul. Consequently, the guitar has two humbuckers. Humbuckers were designed in tandem with the Les Paul, and that combination is what put Gibson on the radar. A humbucker consists of double coils, which means the coils connect in a circle. Humbuckers produce a very different sound than single coils. Humbuckers sound warm and full, are better used with distortion, and produce less feedback, whilst single coils have a nicer clean sound and sound brighter. The two humbuckers can be altered with the three-way switch.
Materials
Because the Summit Classic A/E is a semi-hollow body guitar, it means the body isn’t completely solid. The body is made of mahogany and contains hollow compartments. Godin did this so the guitar wouldn’t be so heavy. Les Pauls are generally considered the heaviest guitar on the market, and this can be very uncomfortable. Subsequently, Godin decided to use a lightweight tonewood and to carve out hollow compartments in the body. Furthermore, the hollow compartments produce a full and deep sound. The neck is made of mahogany and the fretboard of Richlite. This is a great combination and results in a comfortable experience.
