RME Babyface Pro FS - Audio Interface  

The Babyface Pro FS is a handy audio interface from RME. RME is known for their small interfaces. The Babyface Pro FS is the successor to the Babyface Pro, which was a popular interface. The Babyface Pro FS is thus even better with, for example, an added switch for the output which makes sure that more sensitive monitors will still produce a powerful and clear sound. The circuit of the interface has also become stronger and will better prevent interference. Furthermore, the output is more powerful and the impedance is reduced. The microphone inputs and instrument inputs are also improved. None of these improvements, however, require a larger power consumption. You can even use the device with USB 3 bus power instead of with an external adapter.

Connections

The device has four analogue in- and outputs and two microphone XLR inputs. Additionally, the device has two TRS inputs and two TRS outputs. The TRS outputs for the headphones can be individually altered. They will thus correct to the impedance of the headphones. The Babyface Pro FS also has an ADAT in- and output, a MIDI in- and output, and a RME 2.0 connection.

Sound

Just like with all RME interfaces, de Babyface Pro FS has the digital TotalMix FX. With this, you’ll have complete control over all the individual components of the recorded sound which makes them easy to mix. The program works on Windows, Mac OSC and iOS. The interface has many handy effects and functions, including equaliser, reverb, and echo. The small size combined with the versatile program makes it easy for anyone to record and mix sounds!
