Roland SPD-SX PRO - Sampling Pad  

The SPD-SX PRO is the most versatile sampling pad on the market. Roland is a Japanese company that is known for their innovative and high-quality audio products. It is thus no surprise that they developed this sampling pad. The process took a while; they spent years testing the pad on the stage and having it tested by professional musicians. As such, they obtained a lot of experience and feedback with which they could further develop the pad. But now the pad is finally on the market!

The SPD-SX PRO is very versatile, but is mostly suitable for on stage. The pads have clear horizontal and vertical LED’s with different colours to differentiate the pads. The colours can be changed manually. The 4.3” screen is also very bright and easy to navigate. The 32 GB device comes pre-programmed with many effects, the effects can be changed however with the SPD-SX PRO-app. This app is suitable for Windows and Mac and makes importing and editing easier and faster. Furthermore, audio files will be automatically transformed to the right type of file.

The pad is also easy to use, not only with the app, but also because the pads are very sensitive. As such, it’s easier to get into your playing and makes sure the pad is more reactive. There are nine pads that are made of durable materials and shall last a long time. The device contains six large pads and three shoulder pads. The device has multiple rhythms next to the metronome function. The SPD-SX PRO has four direct mono outputs and four stereo outputs. The device can also be connected to a hi-hat or footswitch, depending on what you prefer.
