The Schimmel K125T piano combines traditional German design with innovative construction and modern design. The housing extends all the way to the floor, so that the 'legs' merge very elegantly into the total furniture. A number of essential features such as the 'Triplex Scale' and the construction of the soundboard can be found in this model. The solid spruce back provides a high degree of stability and sturdiness. The CAPE-optimized action of this piano enables key repetition speed that was previously only possible on a grand piano.
Incl. Luxury Piano Package
All Schimmel pianos will be delivered with the free Luxury Piano Package worth €325,- consisting of:
- Tuning before delivery and after delivery
- 10 year warranty
- Free delivery based on ground floor
Unique features of the Konzert Series
The models of the Classic series, completely produced in Germany, already belong to the higher segment of pianos. But with the Konzert series, Schimmel manages to surpass himself. Small details and adjustments lead to refinements in sound and playability. For example, the “triplex scale” increases the richness of sound and speech length. This is accomplished by using three precisely coordinated regions within a single string. A dynamic bar divides the soundboard into sound zones for more sound dynamics, more tonal colors and longer sustain. The resonance and tonal dynamics are also highlighted through the bridge that has been made lighter by means of a special groove, which makes the soundboard more flexible. Playability is also optimal as slippery keys are avoided due to a refinement of the top material that is similar to ivory.
QUALITY OF THE SOUNDBOARD
One of the most essential parts of a piano is the soundboard. This board is largely responsible for the tonal quality of the piano and therefore Schimmel attaches great importance to this part. Years of experience have contributed to an extravagant shape that makes the soundboard extraordinarily large compared to the height of the instrument. Schimmel has done this with all models in the Classic and Konzert series and results in a greater volume with superior tonal distribution. Of course, the higher the piano is, the bigger the soundboard becomes. With a height of 125 cm, this Schimmel K125 is of very average height and therefore ideal for the living room. Not only the size has an influence, the curves and thicknesses also influence the sound and these technical aspects have been worked out in detail. This results in ideal vibration characteristics over a wide spectrum of frequencies and with the characteristic palette of rich tonal colors and powerful deep bass tones, excellent tuning stability of the piano is ensured.
But not only the size of the soundboard is of influence. Another crucial point is the quality of the spruce wood that has been used. Specific climatic conditions influence the wood quality. A tree in a higher area grows more slowly, so that it has smaller annual rings and therefore contains few disturbances in the grain. This makes the wood slightly stronger and gets a stiffer character, which has a positive effect on the sound. For this reason, Schimmel only uses exclusively selected spruce wood from the higher Bavarian forest areas.
Silent System?
Would you like this beautiful Schimmel piano with Silent System? That is possible and we offer two options for this. The first option is to order the Schimmel Twintone Silent System. This system was designed by Schimmel himself and is installed in the factory in Braunschweig. As a second option, you can opt for the Excellent AdSilent System, which is built in by our own piano technicians. We offer the silent systems in combination with a piano with extra advantageous bundle discounts.
What is a Silent System? The Silent System allows you to play your acoustic piano with headphones while remaining completely silent to your environment. When the system is switched on, a built-in rail blocks the hammers from hitting the strings, so that no sound is produced. Each key has sensors that convert the touch into a digital sound that is reproduced through the headphones. This way you can play the piano for hours at times when it is less appreciated by your environment.
History of Schimmel
The story of Schimmel started in 1885 near Leipzig. In a modest workshop of approximately 13 square meters, Wilhelm Schimmel produced his first pianos and here the foundations were laid for a leading company that has now survived for four generations. In 1897 it was decided to move to a larger factory and developments followed each other in rapid succession. The first pianos were sold internationally and some royalties also belonged to the customer group. The first gold medals in prestigious exhibitions were won. In 1931 the step was made to the current factory in Braunschweig and that was a golden step. At the time of the division of Germany, it belonged to economically better West Germany, while the old factory was located in East Germany. The war was survived and in 1958 Schimmel was the best-selling piano worldwide. The family business is now in the hands of the fourth generation. The many years of experience and accumulated expertise, combined with a modern vision, means that Schimmel still belongs to the world top. Great sounding and playing pianos are the result of this.
