The SM7dB is the improved version of the popular Shure SM7B. The SM7dB is a dynamic microphone for vocals and has a built-in preamp. This microphone is suitable for all different types of vocal recording: for podcasters, streamers, and musicians it has been made perfect. The microphone has an equalizer which emphasises the middle tones for a brighter and more balanced sound. The preamp is also a handy addition and produces little added noise. Furthermore, the SM7dB has built-in shock dampening and a cardioid pattern. This is ideal, as a cardioid pattern will only record what is right in front of the mic and thus won’t record background noise. You can use the bracket to hang the SM7dB on the wall and the included popfilter will improve your sound even more.
