Steinberg Wavelab Pro 12 Educational - Mastering Software  

This is the same program as the original WaveLab Pro, but with an educational discount. Students and teachers who follow a minimum of a six-month audio course are eligible for the discount. An important difference is that audio produced with the educational version cannot be used commercially.

WaveLab is the mastering software you are looking for! Mastering is an important part of music production, but it’s also a completely separate thing to recording and mixing. WaveLab is one of the most popular mastering software on the market. And for good reason; the program contains all the functions you may need. For example, you can master for different purposes, like streaming services, CDs, vinyl, and more. Furthermore, you can process an entire album in the software. The program consists of several handy windows you can minimalize or enlarge based on your preferences. These windows consist of the Tool Window, with which you can manage your project and your files, the Meter Window, with which you can monitor everything, the Batch Processor, with which you can process your files, the Audio Editor, the Audio Montage, and the Master Section.

The program is available in two versions: Elements and Pro. Elements is the more affordable version but is still a complete and reliable program with which you can master beautiful audio, but it has less functions than Pro. As such, Elements has a maximum of five audio tracks whereas Pro has more than a thousand. Additionally, Elements only has eight master section slots whilst Pro has 16. Moreover, with Pro you can playback and process five different audio tracks. This function isn’t part of Elements. Pro also allows more plug-ins and has complete metadata support. Elements does have access to many functions, but often limited access. As opposed to Pro, which has full access to everything.
