Transacoustic
The third generation of Transacoustic pianos combines the worlds of an acoustic and digital piano even more than ever before. A transacoustic piano is basically a regular piano on which, of course, fully acoustic playing is possible. So you can fully enjoy the pure acoustic sounds of Yamaha's high-quality pianos. Furthermore, the piano is equipped with numerous digital features that allow the piano to be used in Silent mode and in Hybrid mode.
Hybrid mode
In hybrid mode, a Transacoustic piano combines digital sounds with the acoustic elements of the piano. It is possible both to mute the piano acoustically so that the hammers no longer touch the strings, as well as to actually use the piano acoustically to enhance the digital sounds. The digital system uses the improved basic sounds from the world-famous Yamaha CFX grand piano and the legendary Bosendörfer Imperial grand piano, which are recorded key by key at the highest quality. These recordings have been processed into the current latest samples that the Transacoustic system brings to life via specially designed transducers. If the acoustic sound is muted then this system becomes unique, as the digital sound is still amplified by acoustic elements such as the vibration of the vocal floor and string resonances. This makes it possible to play the piano at a lower volume while maintaining a lifelike sound character. What is also possible, for example, is to play other sounds such as a Fender Roads with amplification of the acoustic elements leading to very cool combinations. Another crazy option is to play purely acoustic piano where the piano is not muted and this can be further digitally supplemented with, for example, a string orchestra.
Silent mode
A Yamaha Transacoustic can also be played in silent mode. The acoustic part is blocked and the digital sound can be played over the headphones. Ideal if, for example, one family member wants to watch television and another wants to play the piano. With the headphones on, you are completely absorbed into the piano because of the binaural technology. This technology ensures that the experience is exactly the same as if you were sitting behind the piano and is therefore unlike the normal left-right reproduction of headphones. Playing for hours and having fun behind the piano without disturbing anyone, that is possible with a Transacoustic!
Playing feel
The playing feel of the Transacoustic is breathtaking in every mode. For the first time ever, all sensors are completely non-contact, so the digital technology does not have any negative influence on the acoustic playing character of the piano. Thus, acoustic is really acoustic without compromise. In silent mode, the feeling of an acoustic action remains except that the hammer no longer physically touches the string. The technology is such that the stopping of the hammer happens very subtly so that as a player you do not notice this. The digital sound is generated by digital sensors, placed for the first time under the keys, at the hammers and at the pedals. This makes the registration of your playing even more precise allowing for even more expressive playing.
App
For the first time, the third-generation Transacoustic can connect wirelessly to your smart device via Bluetooth midi connectivity. The comprehensive Smart Pianist app gives numerous options for selecting or editing different sounds. Various built-in features such as songs, a teaching method and even a rhythm section are available. In addition to Bluetooth midi, the piano also features Bluetooth audio, which allows you to play music wirelessly over the piano. Through the special transducers, the Transacoustic piano can be used as a high-quality speaker to listen to music through.
