More features about the Johannus Opus 260

The Opus 260 is equipped with two manuals and an extensive disposition of 36 voices, divided over four organ styles. If desired, the Opus is also available in the Opus 360 variant with three manuals. The organ features four different sound characters based on historic organs, e.g. the romantic sound style exclusively uses voices from the Vater-Müller organ of the Oude Kerk in Amsterdam and the symphonic style features sounds from the Adema organ in Raalte combined with voices from the Cavaillé-Coll from Paris. The historical style features samples from the Hinsz organ in Kampen, and finally, the Baroque style is based on the sounds of the Silbermann organ from the Hofkirche in Dresden. Some stops have double names and this is called style-variable disposition. To do best justice to each voice and each style, the best composition was considered for each style.

With the new convolution reverb, the organ has very realistic reverb options, with 12 different programmes to choose from.

New technology in the Opus models

Technological developments follow each other in rapid succession and this is also taken into account in the latest organs. The new Opus series features OrangeCore+ technology, which guarantees fast start-up times, excellent sound quality and long-term reliability. With a new convolution reverb, the reverb options have been further expanded. This reverb features a very realistic reverb, with a choice of 12 different programmes. As a final addition, there is a also a new digital mixer that creates an optimal sound experience, which will be experienced both through the built-in audio system and with headphones!

Solo voices and Ambiance option

And after all the above news, the Opus has two more important features that are definitely worth mentioning! First are the two solo voices that can be used as an extra dimension. The warm sound of a pan flute or the powerful trumpet are nice additions to your organ playing.

Furthermore, the Ambiance option also enriches the Opus series. Regardless of which reverb is chosen, this provides the option to select the location of the listening position in the church. Thus, it can sound as if you have taken your seat behind the console of one of the famous organs but also as if you are in the middle or back of the church!

Opus:

Johannus Opus is a household name in the organ world. The Opus models are the world's longest-running production organs, started back in the early 1970s. Countless organists have grown up with Opus, organs made for the living room and for organists who want to study or make music without too much fuss. So with an Opus, no complicated settings or long start-up times, just switch it on and play immediately. The R&D department has of course incorporated all the latest technologies in the latest Opus 255 and Opus 355 models, making the instrument sound better than ever like a real pipe organ. These beautiful sounds are thanks to high-quality recordings of leading pipe organs that are converted into the digital Opus sound courtesy of the "Harmonic Contour Samling method".

The Opus models

There are currently two models available in the Johannus Opus series, which are the Opus 255 and the Opus 355. The Opus 255 is an organ with two manuals and the disposal of 36 voices. The Opus 355 has three manuals and features 44 voices. Both models have a 30-tone pedal, two programmable swell pedals and two solo voices.
