The new Yamaha MODX+ synthesizers come in 3 models:

New Processor

What used to be seen as one of the biggest limits of the original MODX has now been resolved in the new models. Namely the processing power! This is now exactly the same as the expensive Montage series. This means you now have a full 128 stereo polyphony with which you can experiment without limits. The number of effects you can use per preset has also been increased to 13 dual, and 3 master effects. In the past, switching sounds was sometimes a challenge. Especially when you had to go from full orchestral voices to a solo, he could occasionally falter, which was seen as very disturbing on stage. This problem is also a thing of the past thanks to this upgrade! This new "little brother" is also now fully compatible with the Montage presets and sounds that you can download from YamahaSynth.com.

2x more memory & updates

This powerhouse comes in handy if you want to experiment a lot, but you also need a lot of memory for that. That's why Yamaha has doubled the memory to 1.75GB! As a result, you get stuck a lot less quickly with a full memory. Yamaha has frequently updated the Montage & MODX models with new features over the years, and this will happen with the MODX+. In fact: Because it is now a lot more powerful, the updates in the future will also be very promising!

Sound Engine

Sound is the most important aspect of a synthesizer and this is where the new Yamaha MODX+ comes into its own. This offers unprecedented possibilities to create your own unique sound. The polyphony of 128 in stereo alone can be called particularly powerful. Coming from Yamaha's synth flagship the Montage is the AWM-2 Sample, the synthesis engine and the Pure FM-X synthesizer. This allows you to create complex sound designs with the MODX+ and leads to amazing sound reproduction. In addition, thanks to the new processor, you can now use 13 effects simultaneously!

Unlimited Features

Every musician wants his or her sound to be unique. Take control and stand out from the crowd. Bring the sophistication of music production automation to real-time live performance with Motion Control. The Super Knob allows simultaneous control of up to 128 parameters in a single Performance. This means you can control almost everything from mixing functions such as volume, panorama and effect sends to detailed synth parameters such as filters, LFOs and operators. That's 128 parameters... SIMULTANEOUSLY! The Super Knob can even be assigned to a second FC7 control pedal. This makes it easy to manipulate the sound while playing with both hands. Want to expand your sounds? That is also possible thanks to the 1.75 GB internal memory, which comes very close to its more expensive brother.

Hardware and ports

The housing of the MODX+ is made of sturdy plastic. This makes the workstation very light and compact. Ideal for the touring musician! Despite the plastic housing, the construction of the instrument is very good. So you don't have to worry about the durability of the device. The new MODX+ also has enough ports for the professional studio, or stage musician. Of course it comes with a stereo line-out and a USB AUDIO + MIDI port, but it also has 2 footswitch and controller ports, a stereo line-in and MIDI in/out ports!
