Yamaha PSR-SX920 and PSR-SX720
Introduction
The long-awaited Yamaha PSR-SX920 and PSR-SX720 are finally here! And these new models do not disappoint. In this article, we will briefly tell you what is new with these accessible arranger keyboards.
Compact and light, internally much changed
On the outside, these new models do not seem much different from their predecessors. The same controls, speakers and also the large touchscreen display are unchanged. This also means that they are just as compact and light as before, one of the most popular features of this series! But make no mistake: a lot has been adjusted to these new models. They are namely based on the new Yamaha Genos 2, a keyboard that is considered by many to be the best on the market. Many sounds, styles and features of this flagship are now also in these 2 models. You can therefore actually call them Yamaha Genos 2 Mini!
New sounds
The Yamaha PSR-SX920 and SX720 have, as mentioned, a sound generator based on the Yamaha Genos 2. One of the biggest upgrades in the PSR-SX920 is that it now has the “super articulation 2” and “crossfade portamento” engine. These features make acoustic instruments such as violins, saxophones and harmonicas come across even more alive than before. Instruments respond to your playing as you would expect, it is almost indistinguishable from the real thing. The PSR-SX720 has to make do with the "super Articulation +" engine, also very nice! Of course, the number of sounds and styles has also been increased. The Yamaha PSR-SX920 now has 1500+ sounds and 575 styles. The Yamaha PSR-SX720 has 1300 sounds and no less than 450 styles. In short: plenty to experience with these models!

Yamaha has also launched an app specifically for their keyboards with these new models. The YAMAHA EXPANSION EXPLORER app makes it quick and easy to try out and download expansion sounds and styles. Connect your phone to the PSR-SX using a cable and browse through a large library of sounds and styles that can be played quickly and easily. Expanding your PSR-SX model has never been easier!
Summary
In short: the new Yamaha PSR-SX models are definitely worth checking out! Are you looking for a serious arranger keyboard, without it being too big or too expensive? Then these are the ideal models to come and check out!
