Yamaha Silent Piano (E)
We are proud dealer of new Yamaha acoustic pianos and grand pianos. One part concerns the Yamaha Silent pianos, a well-known phenomenon in the piano world that offers many possibilities. A silent system is an electronic system that is built into an acoustic piano and makes it possible to play silently for your environment through headphones. The silent system can be activated by sliding the middle pedal, which lowers a stop bar in front of the hammers. The hammers no longer touch the strings, so there is no longer an acoustic piano sound. Sensors under the keys very accurately register the speed and depth with which the keys are pressed and transform this into digital sound. A Silent system can usually be retrofitted, but most well-known piano brands also offer the possibility to order pianos from the factory with their own system, such as Yamaha, which has two systems; The SC3 Silent System and the SH3 Silent System.
What's new with the third generation of Silent Systems?
The first two generations of Silent pianos were already a great success. Yamaha's enthusiasm for this system has been further fueled, which has led to new developments to improve the sound and playing feel. We have listed the improvements of the third generation for you below:

The Yamaha SC Silent System
The Yamaha SC Silent System is the system that is built into the pianos produced in Indonesia, such as the popular B1, B2 and B3 piano, but also the models from the P-series. Frequently sold grand pianos such as the GB1 also belong to this. The highly regarded Yamaha SC Silent system features the two best samples Yamaha owns, namely the sound of the Yamaha CFX grand piano and the legendary Bösendorfer. The digital sound character can be described as very authentic and when you play with headphones you retain a very realistic piano feeling.
The Yamaha SH Silent System
The Yamaha SH Silent System is built into the Yamaha pianos and grand pianos from Japan. Broadly speaking, the system is equivalent to the SC3 system in the basics with the two best piano samples Yamaha owns; the Yamaha CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial. With a total of 20 sounds, the system is slightly more extensive than the SC system. The technology and operation is completely identical, so the systems make no difference in sound and quality. Apart from some smaller details, the Bluetooth function is worth mentioning. This makes it possible with the SH system to wirelessly stream music from your smartphone or tablet to the system and play it over the headphones.
Operation with App
Both the Yamaha SC and the SH Silent System can be controlled via a tablet or smartphone with the “Smart Pianist” app. This app offers features such as sound selection or intuitive graphical operation of a metronome. The sheet music of the built-in songs is also programmed and can be played on your device. With the third generation of Silent Systems it is possible to connect wirelessly via Bluetooth Midi. Also nice to know is that when you buy a Yamaha piano you get 3 months free access to the Flowkey App. Flowkey is an interactive app that makes learning to play the piano easier and more fun.
Installation is also possible
Do you already own a piano, but would you like a Silent System? Or have you seen a piano with us that does not (yet) contain a Silent System? That's not a problem because then there are still possibilities. We are a dealer of the Excellent Adsilent system that can be built into almost any piano. This makes it possible to play silently on any piano without disturbing your surroundings! Of course there are also other brands that manufacture acoustic pianos with a built-in Silent System, such as the Kawai ATX4 Series.
