The long-awaited Yamaha PSR-SX920 and PSR-SX720 models have finally been announced by Yamaha! These brand new models may look the same on the outside, but they have received a major upgrade internally. Read everything you need to know about these models here.
At first glance, little may seem to have changed on this new line of SX models. The large touchscreen displays and wide array of buttons are identical compared to the old model. That also means Yamaha has kept these keyboards as compact and light as they were, one of its most popular features!

Fortunately, there are some changes on the inside. These models are based on the new Yamaha Genos 2, one of the most popular and best arranger keyboards on the market! One of the biggest upgrades in the PSR-SX920 is that it now has the “super articulation 2” and “crossfade portamento” engine. These features make acoustic instruments such as violins, saxophones and harmonicas sound even more alive than before. The PSR-SX720 has to make do with the “super articulation +” engine, which is also very nice! Of course, the number of sounds and styles has been increased. For example, the Yamaha PSR-SX920 has 1500 sounds and 575 styles. The PSR-SX720 has no less than 1300 sounds and 450 styles.
New app
In addition to these keyboards, Yamaha is also launching a new app specifically for its Arranger keyboard models. With the new EXPANSION EXPLORER app, you can quickly and easily try out and download sound and style expansions on your PSR-SX. Expanding your Yamaha keyboard has never been easier!
