Roland introduces new feature: The Muffler pedal
Felt between hammers and strings
This pedal is also called the study pedal and ensures that the sound is reproduced as if there was a piece of felt between the hammers and strings. This makes the sound even softer and weaker than when you press the soft pedal, but it is also possible to use both pedals simultaneously. This way the acoustic feeling becomes even stronger than it already was. The three pedals are shown in a pedal symbol at the top right of the display, so you can always see which pedals are pressed.
Selectively usable
Due to its newness, the Muffler function is still selectively applicable. So far, it can be used for the Upright Piano, Mellow Upright, Bright Upright, Rock Piano and Ragtime Piano. With an update, this function may also be available on three other models from Roland, namely the Roland GP-6, GP-9 and GP-9M.
