New from Taylor: Two New Builder's Edition 814ce guitars
The design
To list everything at once, it involves chamfered edges on the body, hand-friendly cutouts and chamfered armrests, which ensure seamless interaction between player and guitar. There will be two variants. The first is with Honduran rosewood back and sides, and an Adirondack spruce top. The second has a sinker redwood top.
Rosewood and spruce
Rosewood is a great wood for the body because of its density and high damping factor. In addition, it is good for complex harmonic textures. This is complemented by highfidelity treble and a rich low-end response. Adirondack spruce provides a remarkable dynamic range. The beautifully striated sinker redwood in these models generates cedar-like warmth and a more rounded, mellow quality compared to spruce.
Elegant but understated
Both Builder's Edition 814ce models have an elegant but understated look. A subtle Kona edgeburst adds an extra accent to the natural variegated tones of rosewood. Both models have an edgeburst top and full-body gloss finish. You will also find a smoky ebony fingerboard and green abalone rosette with single ring on these guitars.
