Godin
Godin is a Canadian company that make professional and innovative guitars. Their guitars are relatively sustainable, as well. Almost all their wood comes from North America, which means they don’t participate in deforestation in South America. Their guitars are made by hand by the best luthiers in Canada, which means they can guarantee high-quality guitars.
Hollow-Body
This guitar is a hollow-body guitar. This means that the guitar is a combination of an acoustic and an electric guitar. A hollow body has both a hollow body as well as pickups and knobs. The vibration of the string resonates in the body and on the hollow wood, after which the resonance is caught by the pickups. This results in a beautiful and unique sound; hollow body guitars have a full and bright sound. This is different from a semi-acoustic guitar, as that’s simply an acoustic guitar with an acoustic pickup, meaning the sound is solely acoustic. Due to the pickups on hollow-body guitars, many different types of sound are possible. Consequently, they are also ideal for solos and riffs. Furthermore, the sound holes on hollow-body guitars are usually on the sides instead of in the middle, which means the resonance will sound different as well.
Archtop
This 5th Avenue is also an archtop guitar. An archtop guitar means exactly that; the body has a slight curve to it, instead of being completely flat like most guitars. Another aspect of an archtop guitar is that there are two F-holes on either side of the bridge. This construction was inspired by violins and produces an amazing sound. The two symmetrical F-holes make it easier for the sound to vibrate and project. With F-holes, an arched construction is necessary, as the soundwaves will not properly move without a round edge. This also means that archtop guitars are hollow, otherwise, the archtop construction will have no effect. The archtop construction is quite popular because the added resonance and projection produce a beautiful, airy, and full sound. Whereas solid-body guitars predominantly produce sound with the vibration of the strings over the pickups, with a little added resonance on the top of the body, hollow-body guitars have more resonance and will thus also sound less ‘flat.’
The 5th Avenue Jumbo P-Rail Harvest Gold
The 5th Avenue Jumbo P-Rail Harvest Gold is also made of the best materials. The entire body is made of Canadian wild cherry. Cherry produces a nice sustain and a soft and warm sound. The guitar has a maple neck and a rosewood fretboard. This a great combination that produces a bright sound and a comfortable playing experience. The guitar also has a Jumbo body, which means it’s a bit bigger than a regular hollow-body guitar. This means the body has more room for resonance. Furthermore, the guitar has a Seymour Duncan P-Rail neck pickup. Seymour Duncan is an American company that’s considered the best at producing guitar pickups. The P-Rail consists of both a humbucker and a P90. This means that you can combine the sharp and bright sound of a P90 with the warm and full sound of a humbucker. The pickup can also be split.
