Godin
Godin is a Canadian company who make professional and innovative guitars. Their guitars are relatively sustainable, as well. Almost all their wood comes from North-America, which means they don’t participate in the deforestation in South-America. Their guitars are made by hand by the best luthiers in Canada, which means they can guarantee high quality guitars.
The MultiAc Serie
The MultiAc guitars are electric classical guitars. The MultiAc Steel is thus an exception; this guitar has steel strings which means it’s more a combination between a western guitar and an electric guitar. The goal of this series was to be able to produce the ideal amplified acoustic sound, without feedback, interference, and distortion. Semi-acoustic guitars tend to have these issues. Because the MultiAc is specifically made for amplification, these issues were solved. The guitar has a piezo pickup under the bridge, but also a single-coil pickup in the neck. The latter is an electric pickup, which means the MultiAc can also be used as an electric guitar. Consequently, the MultiAc has the possibility to produce an authentic and beautifully amplified acoustic sound, but also an amazing electric sound. These functions can be used with the same amp, but the guitar has two jack inputs, which means the piezo pickup can be connected to an acoustic amp, and the single-coil pickup to an electric amp.
Materials
The MultiAc Steel has a mahogany body, which produces a balanced and powerful sound. The top of the body is made of spruce. Spruce is very popular because it produces a beautiful and warm sound. The neck is made of mahogany and the fretboards is made of Richlite. Richlite is a new synthetic material, specifically made as an alternative for wood. It consists of a combination of resin and wood fibres, which have been pressed together under a high temperature. Richlite is very rigid, which means it can keep the neck straight, and it is also very smooth, which means it plays great. Furthermore, Richlite doesn’t require maintenance, either. The MultiAc Steel is a professional and innovative guitar by Godin!
