Humidity

For the technical condition of a piano or grand piano, it is essential that your instrument is placed in proper conditions. Too low humidity or rising heat from floor heating can cause cracks and tears in the comb, soundboard and tuning block. As a result, your piano will no longer be tunable, thus losing its sound and value. Repairing this is very costly, which is why it is important to monitor humidity with a hygrometer. For a piano, it is important that it is between 40 and 60%.
