Yamaha
Yamaha was founded in 1887 by Torakusu Yamaha in Japan when he made his first acoustic organ. Yamaha was very passionate and soon began making all types of pianos and grand pianos. He was the first in Japan to produce pianos. Within his development process this progressive innovation was always present. Throughout the last 150 years the company has grown immensely and in all types of directions. Their first acoustic guitar was produced in the 1960s and ever since they have been preoccupied by improving and innovating guitars. The innovation of Torakusu Yamaha is still present in current Yamaha instruments.
The CG-Series
CG series is created using the experience and technology gained from decades of hand crafting fine classical guitars. A wide variety of models makes it easy to find a guitar that fits your sound and design requirements. The CG series offers rich tone with improved volume, tone quality and response, superior playability with its easy to hold neck design and comfortable string height, and elegant appearance with its simple design.
TransAcoustic
The CG-TA is a TransAcoustic guitar, as Yamaha calls it. This means that the sound of the guitar is adjustable without it needed to be amplified. This doesn’t mean the guitar can’t be amplified, but that the acoustic sound can also be adjusted. This is because there is an actuator at the bottom of the back of the body. This actuator recognises the vibrations of the strings and adjusts these vibrations to change the sound. There are of course restrictions to this: the guitar can’t add natural distortion or overdrive, but only a beautiful authentic reverb and chorus. These are the most wanted effects for acoustic guitars. At the top of the guitar there are three subtle knobs with which the effects can be altered when amplified: a chorus knob, a reverb knob, and a volume knob. Because the actuator requires power, the guitar does need a battery which is located next to the output.
The CG-TA
The CG-TA is also made of great materials. The guitar has a classic shape with a solid spruce top. This produces a strong and warm sound. The back and sides are made of laminated ovangkol. Ovangkol is a more sustainable alternative for rosewood and has a full and bright sound. The guitar has a nato neck and rosewood fretboard for a comfortable experience.
