New sample set by Sweelinq: Seifert Organ in the Maria Magdalena Church
What kind of organ is it about?
The organ has a French symphonic sound structure with 42 stops specially made to fill the Gothic church space. The pedal towers contain subtle references to the original tower. The instrument has three manuals (Grand Orgue, Récit Expressif and Solo) and a pedal. These contain mechanical traction, with the exception of the Solo manual.
The ins and outs
The Grand Orgue provides a solid foundation and is ideal for supporting the reeds. The Récit also offers many possibilities, including warm string stops and the characterful Voix Humaine 8'. The Solo Manual is inspired by the work of Cavaillé-Coll, more specifically the organ at Saint-Ouen Abbey in Rouen, and offers additional versatility with flute stops and the rare Violoncelle 8’. The pedal offers a unique depth with two 32' stops (the Sousbasse and the Violonbasse) whose lowest pipes are mounted outside the organ case for reasons of space.
Sweelinq has now produced a promising sample set of this versatile organ.
