The American Performer Series
The American Performer instruments are carefully constructed by hand in Corona, California. All guitars have completely new Yosemite pickups which were specifically designed for each model. Consequently, these pickups provide you with a professional and unique sound. All Yosemite pickups are made with an Alnico magnet which makes the sound more dynamic and expressive. Furthermore, the American Performer guitars have a completely new tone circuit so you can easily change the sound without it becoming dull or muddy. The series consists of Stratocasters, Telecasters, Jazzmasters, Mustangs, Precision Basses, Jazz Basses, and Mustang Basses.
The American Performer Telecaster
Of course, Fender also included their magnum opus in this series: the Telecaster. As such, this model has a vintage look and feel, but with modern perks. For example, the neck has the modern C-shape as this is more comfortable and makes for easier playing. The new pickups might be modern, but they still provide that typical Telecaster sound, but it’s just a little more dynamic. This Telecaster also contains vintage tuners which look authentic and provide great tuning stability. Vintage tuners are also very pretty as they don’t have the ends of the strings sticking out, which is a problem with modern tuners. The guitar has an alder body, which is nicely lightweight and provides great sustain. Moreover, the guitar has a maple neck and a rosewood fretboard.
Fender
Fender was founded in 1946 by Clarence Leonidas ‘Leo’ Fender. Their first guitar, the Telecaster, became a huge success, and they started producing other similarly popular models, like the Stratocaster and the Precision Bass. Nowadays Fender has a huge assortment of different basses and guitars, with different sounds, colours, and prices, so that they have something for everyone. Consequently, they remain one of the most popular guitar brands today!
