Line 6
Line 6 is a guitar company that was founded in 1996 in California. In 1996 they produced the first modelling amp in the world, the AxSys 212. They focussed mostly on modelling techniques with amps and effect pedals. Furthermore, they prioritise versatility, which means their technology contains many different types of modelling and sounds. Additionally, they played an important role in the improvement and availability of digital recording. In 2014 Line 6 was bought by the popular Japanese company Yamaha. Yamaha is a huge company that produces many different types of instruments and audio products. Consequently, Line 6 didn’t just grow, it also became available worldwide. Moreover, Yamaha prioritises innovation and creativity, which means their subsidiary Line 6 still strives to produce the best and newest products.
The Pod Express Bass
The Pod Express is a handy multi-effects pedal for bass players. This small pedal is enormously strong and contains many different types of sounds and effects. The pedal contains five large turning knobs, of which the middle one is the AMP modelling knob, with which you can choose between seven different types of amps. Besides the AMP knob, there’s also a COMP knob with which you can choose between four different compressors, the SYNTH knob which contains four different synth-like sounds, the DIST knob for four different types of distorted sounds, and the MOD/DELAY knob with which you can choose between chorus, flanger, phaser, and delay. As such, you’ll have access to every important effect. With the Pod Express, you won’t need a separate pedalboard as it contains everything, even a built-in tuner. Moreover, you also won’t need a USB interface, as the Pod Express has a USB-C connection which connects directly to your laptop or PC so you can use it as a USB interface. The pedal also has a headphone jack for monitoring.
