Roland
Roland is a Japanese company created in Osaka in 1972 by Ikutaro Kakehashi. They produced high-quality and innovative rhythm machines, quickly followed by synthesizers and digital pianos, which made them one of the market leaders for electronic musical instruments within no time. Kakehashi subsequently created the subsidiary Boss in 1973, which focuses on the bass and guitar aspects of digital music. Roland’s philosophy is that music is an integral aspect of life, considered an almost magical part that brings us more humanity. It’s clearly important for Roland that they can guarantee the best quality. Furthermore, their slogan is ‘We Design The Future Together.’ Although they acknowledge their part in music history, they want to predominantly focus on the future. With this slogan they constantly remind themselves that ambition and innovation are vital and that they’ll prioritise their promise of constant quality development and an increase of quality with every new product.
The V-Drums 7 Series
As a result of this promise, Roland has developed the V-Drums 7 Series. With this series, they have elevated their popular digital drum kits to an even higher level. The kits in the series contain a new and improved sound module, even more sensitive pads, and more authentic sounds. You can also connect your smartphone to the V71 module wirelessly, so you’ll have easy access to the Roland Cloud Connect with which you can alter your sounds and kits easily. This also means that you’ll always have access to the constantly growing Roland library, including new instrument expansions and new kits. The library already contains very realistic recordings of the best drum kits across the world, so the V71 can produce insanely authentic and detailed sounds. These amazing drum kits were also recorded with a 32-bit/192 kHz resolution in the best studios around the world. You can, of course, add your own sounds to your library. Additionally, you can easily record your playing by connecting the module to your DAW with a MIDI cable. The series contains two TD-type drum kits, like the original Roland digital drum kits, a VAD version, which looks and feels like an acoustic set, and the V71 module is also available separately if you want to use it with your own set.
The TD713
The TD713 is the most affordable kit from the series, but this doesn’t mean it’s less quality than the others. The set contains the newest and best pads. The PD-14SX snare pad contains improved snare technology, which makes the sound more detailed, a snare throw-off handle, and a snare tension knob. Moreover, the set includes an expressive and compact kick pad, four tom pads, two V-Cymbals, a very popular digital hi-hat, a ride pad, and a sturdy frame.
Keep in mind that the kit itself isn’t ready to play. The stand for the hi-hat, cymbals, and pads, the kick pedal, snare stand, drum mat, and stool are sold separately.
