Many new digital drum kits from Roland
Big news from Roland, many of their electronic drum kits are getting new versions. For example, the TD-17KV2 and TD-17KVX2 are announced in the TD-17 series, while a new TD-27KV2 is released in the TD-27 series.
What's new?
Both modules have had a major software upgrade, which can also be installed for older TD-17 and TD-27 modules. New functions and new presets have been added, making the possibilities even more extensive. The new presets consist of all-new samples of incredibly high quality. With the TD-17, the crash and ride cymbals have also improved because the kits come with the new "thin" variant. These cymbals are even thinner, which improves the playing experience. With the TD-27KVX2, the crash also comes in a new thin variant, but the upgrade of the hi-hat is much more worth mentioning. Instead of the 10 inch VH-10, this set now comes with the brand new 14 inch digital VH-14D hi-hat that is not only bigger, but also much more sensitive.
V-Drums Acoustic Design
The Roland VAD series stands for V-Drums Acoustic Design, or the techniques of the TD series but in versions that look like real acoustic drum kits. The new VAD-307 is the successor of the VAD-306 and features the updated TD-17 version 2 module. This kit also comes with the newer thinner cymbals and the hardware has also undergone a major upgrade. This makes the VAD-307 even better on its feet!
The new VAD-504 and VAD-507 are both based on the TD-27 module and therefore also have the updated module. Like the TD-27 set, the new 14 inch digital hi-hat is included as well as the newer thinner cymbals. Again, the hardware has been greatly improved, which means that the quality of the new series increases considerably!
