KORG Kronos is back with a third generation
Renewed sound
First of all, those extra sounds. These are not just a few, but hundreds of extra sounds. The nine separate synth engines are additionally for acoustic and electric pianos, as well as tonewheel organs, physical modelling and various virtual analogue synthesisers. Furthermore, it offers sample-based sounds.

Highlights
Highlights of the new sounds include an Italian concert grand piano, Tine EP 1 Early, electric piano and self-selected sounds from third-party libraries. It also provides access to complete KORG libraries such as ‘KRS-08 Best of TRITON’, ‘KRS-04 Pro Splits and Layers’ and ‘KRS-05 Ensemble Combinations’.
The system
The system architecture has been completely newly developed. This is particularly noticeable in the smoother workflow and start-up that is a lot faster. The sonic flexibility and extensive controller options that the KRONOS is known for have remained. These include 9 faders, 8 rotary knobs, a keyboard with aftertouch, X/Y joystick, vector joystick and ribbon controller. In addition, this instrument comes with the KARMA function, sequencer with 16 MIDI and 16 audio tracks, extensive sampler, effects section and connection section.
Distinctive
The new model looks elegant with its black-coloured wooden side panels and is also available with 61 lightly weighted touch-sensitive keys and aftertouch, or 73 or 88 touch-sensitive keys with aftertouch and hammer mechanism. The overall design is also new, with black metal housing and black-coloured wooden side panels.
