Boss Katana Artist MkII Head  

The Boss Katana Artist MkII Head is the improved version of the Katana MkII Head. The amp has new effects and the settings and patches can be altered with the Boss Tone Studio. Your recordings can also be shared and downloaded via the Boss Tone Exchange. It’s a 100 Watt amp and is part of Boss’ Katana series.

The Katana Series

The Boss Katana Artist MkII Head is part of Boss’ Katana series. This series is named after the traditional Japanese sword: the katana. This symbol shows the combination of traditional craftsmanship and innovation. Within this series Boss develops versatile and powerful amps for a relatively low price. The Katana series stands next to the Waza Craft series, which means that the most innovative technology has been used. The amps contain several effects, which means these amps are ideal for the musician that likes to play different styles.

Sounds

The Katana Artist MkII Head has modelling options, including five different amps, five variations, and different effects with three variations each. The amps are based on popular valve amps that sound authentic due to Boss’ Tube Logic system. The amp has a Contour knob with which the entire tone colour can be altered. Furthermore, the amp has eight memory settings with which you can save your settings. It’s also possible to connect an effects loop to the amp, both in series and in parallel. Do you want to alter your effects? The Boss Tone Studio Editor for PC and Mac makes finding your sound easy. The amp has a USB-connection, Line-out, and AUX-in. Moreover, the amp has a Power-Control option, with which the volume can be easily regulated without altering the power of the sound.

It's also possible to expand the amp with the Katana Cabinet 212 or the Katana Cabinet 212 Waza.
